Hot Rod Drag Week Street Race Small Block Power Adder Class Facts…
I was driving home, thinking about how Dustin and Steve Trance have won Street Race Small Block Power Adder class twice, back to back….. And I wondered if anyone had won it three times… So, here is how it all breaks down, plus a few more interesting things I found….
Dustin and Steve are not alone in winning the class twice. In fact, three other racers are Repeat Winners as well – Randall Reed, doing it in 18&19 – Chris Bishir, doing it in 15&16 and Jon Wischman doing it in 12&13. No one has won the class more than 2 times…..
Interesting Stat: Everyone that has Won Twice, has done it back to back!
That got me thinking, do racers win and move on to another class?
For some, yes. Others, no.
Jon Wischman won in 2012 and 2013, finished second in 2014, and moved on to Prostreet PA with a different car for two years but hasn’t raced since his DNF in 2016….
Jon Huber has competed in the class 10 times, with his last event all the way back in 2017! Another thing about Jon, his last time to finish the week was his Class Win in 2009, one of only three events he made it to the end of the week.
Jason Doisher competed in 2016, 2017 (Winning the class) and again in 2018.
Randall Reed hasn’t returned to race HRDW since his Back to Back Class wins in 2018 an 2019…
Tim Reed competed in Drag Week twice, but only in SR SB PA the one year he won…
Won and Done:
Jamie Hacking won the class in 2010, in his only time competing at HRDW.
Kurt Urban did the same thing back in 2006, the first year of the class. Won and Done, and never returned as a racer….
Jarrett Faggart, another Won and Done, after his class win in 2014, he hasn’t returned.
I’ll be following the leaders of this class for the 2023 event and intend to provide daily coverage. Can Dustin and Steve be the first team to win three??
