A Brat Race Car!! But why???
Chris Tran is working hard to make Carolina Drag Cruise with his Subaru Brat!!!
Being such a unique car, I had to reach out and ask WHY????
Chris replied, “I personally built this car about fifteen years just for fun. It’s a very odd platform for a race car and I went with this because 1) I had it 2) it’s different.”
The powertrain is currently out of the truck to prep for his first drag and drive event. But, when the turbo LS goes back in, he expects it to run 6.0s. Which is slower than the nitrous setup that “ran deep 5s”.
Public Reaction
Chris said the reaction to the car has been very positive – “It’s a bit of a love hate type reaction. Most people love it, some hate it.”
“It is a true street car in the sense that all the DOT equipment is there and works down to the emergency flashers.”
We’re hopeful the Chris makes the event, it’ll be great to see the videos of the car (truck?) cruising between tracks and racing!
Carolina Drag Cruise begins May 19 at Greer Dragway in Greer, SC. All tracks will be 1/8 Mile racing and will add to the 2022 1/8 Mile Racing List!
